When people think of Rotary International, they picture service projects, community leaders, and meaningful impact. And that’s absolutely true. But there’s another side of Rotary that deserves just as much attention:
Rotary is FUN.
Yes, we plan projects, raise funds, and change lives — but we also laugh together, celebrate together, and build friendships that last a lifetime.
At the heart of Rotary is fellowship. The conversations before meetings, the teamwork during service projects, and the shared pride after a successful event are what truly define the Rotary experience. Whether we’re packing food boxes, mentoring students, or supporting the global effort to end polio through End Polio Now, we’re doing it side by side — and enjoying the journey.
Across Rotary District 5400, gatherings and events remind us that service and celebration go hand in hand. These moments recharge our batteries, strengthen connections, and remind us why we joined Rotary in the first place. As I often admit, "if it's not fun, why are we doing it?".
And speaking of fun — we can’t wait to come together at our District Conference, May 29–30 in Idaho Falls! It will be two days of inspiration, fellowship, laughter, and celebration. From engaging speakers to reconnecting with friends across the district, this is our time to recharge, refocus, and truly enjoy being Rotarians together. Watch for registration information coming your way in the next couple of weeks!
Rotary may be built on Service Above Self — but it thrives on friendship, laughter, and joy.
Because when we serve with heart, we have fun doing it.
Kathy Buck, 2025-26 District 5400 Governor
