As we approach Thanksgiving, I've been thinking about how much I have to be grateful for this year. And near the top of that list are the Rotarians I've met during my travels around District 5400.
One of the greatest gifts of serving as District Governor has been the opportunity to visit clubs, get to know their members, and see firsthand the difference they're making in their communities.
Every club has its own personality. Every community has its own needs. But everywhere I go, I meet people who care deeply about the places they call home. They give their time, share their talents, build friendships, and find ways to make things better.
And I find myself wanting to go back.
Not because I need to make another official visit, but because I admire what these clubs are doing. I want to support their work, lend a hand when I can, and simply be part of it.
The hospitality and friendship I've experienced throughout the district have meant more to me than I can probably express. And I hope the Rotarians I've met along the way know how special they are.
Sometimes we're so busy planning the next fundraiser, organizing the next service project, or keeping our clubs running that we forget to recognize the difference we're making—and the people making it possible.
So this month, I simply want to say thank you.
Thank you for the warm welcomes, the friendships, the service, and the countless ways you strengthen your communities.
You are doing important work, and I hope you know how much you're appreciated.
