The Rotary Club of Meridian Idaho has supported many D5400 Rotary Clubs in their local and global grants and fundraisers over the years. Now is your chance to support their first ever global grant!
This clean water Global Grant focuses on clean water and peace building. This project connects the community of Mpintsin, Ghana to the Ghana Water System - no bore holes or wells. We have a written agreement with Ghana Water to maintain the system. Fun Fact: Ghana Water tests their water production facility and system every hour to ensure clean potable water. The total budget for this project is $93k, which translates to approx. $25 per person for fresh water in perpetuity. HDPE pipe will be trenched and 200 standpipes with smart water meters will be installed to serve the local school and 200 buildings; this is clean potable water for more than 4,000 residents in the community who are without clean water today. The Meridian Club is raising $30k locally and they are just over 50% of goal today.
March is Water, Sanitation and Hygiene month and you may choose to support this project by:
- Donating to The Rotary Foundation to support the Global Grant - we have a special form for this to ensure the donation is allocated to the grant and you receive TRF credit and points.
